A$AP Rocky has some heavy hitters in his corner working on his release from custody in Sweden, and President Trump announced the White House is getting involved. As the hip-hop star remains in jail after Swedish officials ordered him to be held another week in pre-trial detention, Trump says he is now actively involved in working to free the American rapper.
Friday afternoon, Trump addressed the situation during a media conference in the Oval Office.
One of those African Americans is Kanye West, who has been lobbying for Trump to get involved with freeing the rapper.
"Just spoke to @KanyeWest about his friend A$AP Rocky’s incarceration," Trump later tweeted.
He added, "I will be calling the very talented Prime Minister of Sweden to see what we can do about helping A$AP Rocky. So many people would like to see this quickly resolved!"
